Vessel Fitter (ASME)

We are currently seeking an experienced ASME Pressure Vessel Fitter for employment with our company.

Applications must be completed at 4727 NW Evangeline Thruway, Carencro, LA 70520, M-F 8-5.

Vessel fitter job scope:

 

To efficiently perform the fabrication of various types of ASME coded pressure vessels in a safe manner in accordance with the companies quality standards

Key Duties:

·         May layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates 

·         Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools

·         Reads blueprints and performs own fit-up

·         Works with different types and sizes of vessel materials

·         Operates cutting equipment including torches and various power and hand tools

·         Safely operates iron worker, grinders, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machine, welding machine, and various pneumatic hand tools

·         Assembly of components with some fabrication of equipment needed for the job with minimal supervision

·         Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude

·         Primarily fabricates coded ASME pressure vessels to all drawings provided

·         Primarily fabricates and/or assemble external and internal components to assist in and/or fabricate coded pressure vessels.

Skills/Requirements:

·         Vessel discipline must pass a 3G welding test

·         Must be able to tack and use a grinder

·         One to three years related experience and/or training

·         Experience operating other shop equipment (e.g., overhead crane, hand tools)

·         Knowledge of different types and sizes of vessel materials

 

Physical Requirements:

·         Standard requirements – Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, reaching, working at elevated heights will all be required

·         Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying

·         Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments

·         Ability to work while standing and/or squatting/stooping for extended periods of time

·         Ability to work in cramped and/or confined spaces when required

·         Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
